MoistScan® online microwave moisture analyzers employ state-of-the-art microwave technology to accurately measure moisture in a wide-range of bulk materials.

Unlike other technologies such as near infrared (NIR), radio frequency (RF), conductance and capacitance, MoistScan® analyzes 100% of the material, identifying variations in moisture throughout the entire profile. The MoistScan® patented microwave transmission technique combined with extensive application knowledge ensures that MoistScan® analyzers operate with the highest precision.

MoistScan® MA-500 On Belt Online Microwave Moisture Analyzer

The MoistScan® MA-500 online microwave moisture analyzer is ideal for use on non-conducting materials with low to medium moisture content and relatively low bed depth.The online moisture meter is particularly well suited for analysis of most ranks and types of coal.

The MA-500 fits to a standard belt conveyor such that the microwave transmitter is located below the belt and the detector is located above the material. This enables real time moisture determination of the material as it passed between the transmitter and detector. It has a rugged c-frame configuration, is supplied fully assembled and is easily installed. Standard in the MA-500 are many different communication options for sending and receiving data. Its user-friendly features are designed to assist with commissioning & calibration. Importantly, the data storage and communication capabilities of the MA-500 enable technical support via remote access for diagnostic purposes and periodic calibration verification.

MoistScan® MA-500HD On Belt Online Microwave Moisture Meter

The MoistScan® MA-500HD online microwave moisture sensor is typically suitable for metalliferous minerals and heavy organic materials with high moisture content and thick bed depths. These include alumina, bauxite, nickel, zinc, lead and copper in ore and concentrate forms. The analyzer fits to a standard belt conveyor. The MA-500HD fits to a standard belt conveyor such that the microwave transmitter is located below the belt and the detector is located above the material. This enables continuous online moisture analysis of the material as it passed between the transmitter and detector. MoistScan® MA-500HDi On Belt Online Microwave Moisture Analyzer

The MoistScan® MA-500HDi online microwave moisture analyzer is purpose-engineered for the iron ore industry. It is suitable for iron ores, iron ore concentrates, iron ore filter cake, iron ore pellets and sinter blends. The MA-500HDi incorporates the MoistScan® patented microwave moisture measurement technique with NFA® (near field analysis) technology. The MA-500HDi is highly responsive to subtle changes in moisture. It is a proven performer on hematite. The moisture detector may also be suitable for measuring moisture in magnetite ores however this is highly application dependent.

MoistScan® MA-700 In-pipe Online Microwave Moisture Sensor

The MoistScan® MA-700 In-Pipe Microwave Moisture Detector provides precise, continuous measurement of moisture in many bulk materials while being transported via a pipe conveyor. Two (2), four (4) and six (6) inch OD pipe spool diameters are available as standard. Other sized spools are also available. The MA-700 provides continuous real-time data on total moisture in the product. It is custom designed to meet industry specifications. These include:

MoistScan MA-600® CMA In-Chute Online Microwave Moisture Detector

The MoistScan® MA-600CMA in-chute real time moisture meter is designed specifically for applications where there is a need to measure moisture of the material as it falls under gravity while passing through a chute or hopper. A case in point is where you want to measure the dry tonnage stored in a silo or bin. The MA-600CMA antenna horns are custom-built to fit the size of the chute or hopper. The antenna are configured so as to create an electromagnetic field through which the material passes. By measuring changes in the microwave properties of the magnetic field the percentage of the material is calculated and continuously reported in real time.

MoistScan® MA-600HBF Horizontal Belt Filter Online Microwave Moisture Gauge

The MA-600HBF is a continuous microwave moisture analyzer that is custom designed for accurate analysis of filter cake moisture on a horizontal belt filter. The MA-600HBF standard configuration employs three (3) sensors – one located 3ft. from each side of the filter bed and one in the center. Real time moisture results from the MA-600HBF is typically used to control the vacuum pressure or belt speed, the objective of which is to ensure that the moisture of the filter cake is maintained within set point limits.

The MA-600HBF is suitable for use on most metallic and non-metallic mineral concentrates. Typical uses for the MA-600HBF include:

MoistScan® MA-600VDF Vertical Disk Filter Online Moisture Meter

The MoistScan® MA-600VDF online microwave moisture sensor is custom designed to accurately measure the moisture in the filter cake of a vertical or rotary disc filter. Typically, the microwave antenna comprising the transmitter and receiver is housed in a c-frame configuration. This is fitted to a single filter disk such that the microwave signal is transmitted through the entire material profile on both sides of the disk.

The MA-600HBF is suitable for use on most metallic and non-metallic mineral concentrates. Typical uses from the MA-600HBF are:

MoistScan® MA-600SF – In-Screwfeeder Online Microwave Moisture Meter

The MA-600SF is specifically designed for measuring moisture in materials that are conveyed by a screwfeeder or spiral auger. Each MA-600SF features custom-sized antenna horns that mount to the sides of the screwfeeder at an angle of approximately 900 to each other. This forms a microwave field in the shape of a semi-circle such that the field diameter equates to the height of the auger flight.
