To provide optimum performance, the conveyor’s design has been adapted to the special requirements of metal detectors. HQ/SSE conveyors perfectly complement Cassel METAL SHARK® BD Metal Detectors. HQ/SSE conveyors are available in standard and custom designs as well as with a variety of optional accessories. Due to the excellent quality of manufacturing, the conveyors are maintenance-free. They perform reliably and remain durable even in the harshest environments while needing to comply with the highest quality standards (like in the food industry).

METAL SHARK® BD Metal Detectors: Rectangular sensor head for conveyors.

Cassel′s Metal Detector BD, typically integrated onto conveyor belts, include readily adjustable settings to ensure extreme equipment sensitivity, stability and reliability. A variety of reject mechanisms (pusher, belt stop and alarm, etc.) is available to alert operators of a “find” or to divert contaminated products. The conveyor belt, framing and controls are made with sanitary designs for food grade process applications. Cassel Metal Detectors can be easily adjusted for the best product inspection tasks even under harsh environmental conditions or for conductive products.

The Metal Detector BD is generally used for: frozen products, candy, bread/cakes/pastries, fish, meat/meat products, ready-to-serve meals, and raw material checking.

HACCP and IFS compliance: Per HACCP principles, Metal Detectors are classified as critical control points and continuous checking is required to meet standards. If requested, Cassel can integrate a performance validation system (PVS) which automatically prompts the operator to test Metal Detector performance at pre-set intervals.

Operational history: Metal contaminant detection, changes in parameter settings and other events are recorded with the date and time. Users can view the list of “incidents” on the control panel or export the log via a serial port.

Ready for SHARKNET® software: To comply with HACCP and IFS standards, SHARKNET® enables automatic downloading of data documentation to a Windows-based PC.

LPW option for low-pressure wash-up (IP67): To obtain the IP67 rating, the METAL SHARK® controller can be housed in a double-thick stainless steel enclosure. This upgrade allows for wash-up with a low-pressure water hose.

HPW option for high-pressure wash-up (IP69k): To obtain the IP69k rating, the aperture can be specially sealed to prevent leaks and the METAL SHARK® controller can be housed in a double-thick stainless steel enclosure. Daily wash-ups with a steam hose at a maximum pressure of 60 bar/900 psi can be handled. This feature benefits manufacturers in industries where frequent wash downs are required, such as in meat-processing industries.

The METAL SHARK® HW is a conveyor system for wet environments. Exceptionally easy to clean. Available in two belt widths of 250 and 350 mm, each width with BD sensor pass heights of 125/150/175 /200/ 225 mm. This system is usually available as stock, tagged with an attractive price.

Metal Detector METAL SHARK® IN Liquid

Cassel’s IN Liquid metal detector is specially designed for liquids and slurries in the food industry. With its maintenance-free design and high quality construction it operates absolutely reliable even in the most challenging industrial environments.

To meet the food industries hygienic requirements the rugged stainless steel sensor and housing are smoothly finished for easy cleaning. The hoses and reject systems are constructed for high temperatures and pressures up to 16 bar, so they can easily be cleaned by SIP/CIP systems.

The METAL SHARK® IN Liquid system is adjustable to many kinds of production lines. It is available with hose diameters from 1″ to 4″ and several types of connection, e.g. tri-clamps, milk-threads or aseptic flanges.

Production Line Integration

Sturdy frame: the hygienic design is easy to clean. All rods are completely welded on all sides. Due to an integrated gas spring, height adjustment is easy to handle for one operator. Four castors make it comfortable to move the metal detector.

Plug in & ready to go: the external device cables are plugged in between the filling and the clipping machine. Pipe connections and link cables are provided compatible with the stuffer type.

HACCP and IFS Compliance

Easy cleaning: due to the hygienic design, Metal Detector IN MEAT type can be easily disassembled for daily rinsing with water or steam hose cleaning. The construction proves its worth in sausage productions with several wash-ups a day. The optional Ex-PWC reject will not impede product flow. METAL SHARK® GF metal detectors are built into gravity feed pipelines to monitor for unwanted metal contaminants in continuously flowing granules or powders, such as sugar, flour, corn meal or spices. As bulk material flows through the metal detector, the reject flaps promptly separate even the smallest metal contaminants from the product stream.

METAL SHARK®  GF (Gravity Feed) is specifically designed and constructed for the food industry and its requirements.
